The garden place

The Lord has put a flame in our hearts to create a gathering for mothers of Christ’s Church who educate in the home. This is not just any gathering. This is a sisterhood. This is a place to be united. We all have the same desire, to bring our children closer to Christ.

We will be gathering together at The Garden Place at This is The Place Heritage Park. Our Retreat is a two-day event. So, make sure you get your ticket before they sell out. It truly will be a life-changing experience.

Heather & Jordan Robison - “A Home of Learning.” ~ Heather and Jordan live on a farm in a small town in Utah. While they take pride in doing everything together; whether it’s running 3 businesses, raising 5 babies, pouring cement together, or chasing cows on their farm, they both agree thee greatest joy and blessing is their children. While they are both very driven, they both love to travel and be with their little family. They have been homeschooling their children for seven years and have claimed these years as “The Golden Years”. They center their lives on Christ and strive to plant the same desire into their children’s hearts. They feel truly fortunate to spend so much time together as a family. Often times, while working together (like in the garden) they refer to themselves as “Team Robison”. They work together, play together, mourn together, adventure together, learn together, and serve together. Their family motto is “Work Hard, Play Hard, Live Through Christ”. Heather is the founder of “A Home of Learning”. One of her greatest passions is bringing homeschooling mamas in Zion together.

Rio Grange - “Pitching our Tent Towards the Prophet.” Preparing our hearts and minds to hear the words of the Prophet and Apostles. ~ Rio has always been guided by two things—the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her gift for design and artistic expression. These passions came together with the launch of her company, Work + Wonder, where products are designed to reflect the beauty of His gospel, and excite people to live it. She and her husband and two children recently moved to the small town of Hailey, ID, where they appreciate the slower pace and mountain community. Grace has become an essential part of her journey as she balances the roles of motherhood, designer and business owner. Everyday she continues to learn through her mistakes, embrace the chaos and the beauty, and trust in His divine design of it all.

Mikael Monson - Straight and Narrow is the Way: Walking the Homeschool Path Alone ~ Mikael lives in Portland Oregon with her husband of 14 years and their four tow headed kids. Several years ago, after receiving a strong impression from the Spirit to homeschool her children, she immediately closed the doors of her thriving photography business and walked away from her career as a ballet instructor and choreographer to teach her children full time in her home. Believing that we are pioneers today, she gains strength from her own pioneer ancestors, one being Drucilla Hendricks, who said “We have to make sacrifices, but if done in meekness, with an eye single to the Glory of God, we will never fail to reap a rich reward.” . . Mikael started a youtube channel to bring courage to mothers receiving the same prompting to homeschool.

Stephanie Read - Connecting with your children through adventure. ~ Stephanie is a wife, mother, photographer, adventurer, blogger, and homeschooler. Her work has been featured on the Huffington post, Wild and Free, and she frequently shares her adventure ideas on Utah’s Fox 13. Seven years ago she decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime by following a prompting to homeschool her children (ages 13,11,8,4,1). She loves exploring with her crew in the mountains of Utah where she lives with her husband of 15 years, their children, a dog, chickens, and a chameleon named Fern. She dreams of wide open spaces so she can add a few more animals to the mix, but in the mean time she is savoring the cul-de-sac life and the never ending streams of children through her door. — She’s all about collecting memories over things. And blogs about her family adventures on @saltproject.co where she encourages other moms to get out and make memories too. She is a firm believer of the wise words of Charlotte Mason “never be within doors when you can rightly be without”.

Jesika Hardman - Learning to let technology enhance your lives, not run it: Conneting more with our children and less with our phones. ~ Jesika is your typical girl who loves morning runs, flowers, sunshine, reading, and anything to do with Mr. Harmon. She lives with her five favorite little people who call her mom, with whom she loves to read aloud good books, dance in the kitchen while making yummy food, and do anything outdoors (they may disagree about the yard work bit, but she claims someday they will thank her!) — Jesika spends her free time working on The New Norm project she and a dear friend started to try and educate, equip, and empower others to put technology in its proper place, rather than letting it run their lives. She believes if our lives are run by the technology we use, we crowd out any space to be creative, to really connect with others, and most importantly to hear Gods voice. “Live in real life” is her mantra, and real connection is her goal.
